Africa Oyé 2019 Festival Dates Revealed by Organisers
The Africa Oyé 2019 festival will take place in Liverpool’s Sefton Park on the 22nd and 23rd of June, with entrance free on both days.
Showcasing the very best of music and culture of Africa and the diaspora, Africa Oyé 2019 will offer two days of fantastic live music, DJs and dance, as well as workshops, food stalls and a range of traders in the Oyé Village. Entrance to the festival will remain completely free, even in the face of rising infrastructure costs and an ever-growing audience, thanks to festival organisers.
Africa Oyé 2019: Line Up
International stars will fill the line-up in a music programme that promises to be as diverse as ever. The Oyé Active Zone, DJ stages Trenchtown and Freetown are confirmed to return, as well as the Oyé Introduces programme which will see local acts from the North West open the festival on each day.
The first of the main stage artists will be revealed next month, following a record number of applications to play the event that Bido Lito! has called ‘the jewel in Liverpool’s festival crown’ – stay tuned to our blog for all the latest
Getting there and accommodation
Liverpool South Parkway Station is the nearest major station to Sefton Park. Catching the Merseyrail train from South Parkway to St Michaels will bring you within walking distance of the festival. There are also plenty of buses that will get you there.
