In this instalment, we’re talking coffee shop and bar, LEAF.

Whether you’re looking for that early morning wake-up coffee, or a couple of quiet drinks to round-up the evening – this charming day-to-night venue is a must for visitors to the city, or Liverpudlians who are looking for somewhere different to enjoy good times.

LEAF was started in 2007 as a small tea shop ran by friends. They had a dream to bring quality loose-leaf tea to the city in an intimate setting – and several years later that dream has become a reality. After taking up permanent residence on Bold Street, Liverpool’s most diverse and independent street, LEAF has become a popular spot for early-birds and night owls alike.

The building itself has tonnes of character – previously a tea room in the 1920s and a cinema in the late 20th Century, it has an intimate atmosphere unlike any major coffee shop or bar.

Perhaps what makes LEAF truly unique is its own blends of loose leaf tea, that are available to order and enjoy whilst you get comfy on one of LEAF’s Victorian settees. You can also buy the blends to take home with you, so you can enjoy the trademark LEAF taste long after you’ve left Liverpool. But don’t just take our word for it – their ‘Secret Garden’ and ‘Autumn Fire’ blends have won Great Taste Awards in 2015 and 2016.

Not a tea lover? Not to worry. As well as their other delicious hot and cold drinks, LEAF regularly host the best in local live music, including release parties and open mic nights.
