The city’s one night arts and culture festival LightNight returns on Friday 13th May for its seventh year. The night, which runs from 5pm onwards, provides the opportunity to explore Liverpool along a trail of light projections – with world-class galleries, museums and public spaces open late for a free showcase of the city’s arts and culture.
Co-ordinated by non-profit organisation Open Culture, LightNight allows Liverpool’s arts community a platform to create a varied programme of arts and cultural activity over the course of a single evening.
With street performances, exhibitions, walks, talks and hands-on activities for all ages, as well as dance workshops, science demonstrations and partying into the early hours – there really is something for everyone at this unmissable celebration of local arts and culture.
Some highlights include:
- The NightLight Bus – a free heritage circular bus service using classic Liverpool buses, which have been provided by The Merseyside Transport Trust. The route will serve Pier Head, Jamaica Street, the Cathedrals and William Brown Street and runs every 10 minutes from 6pm – 11pm.
- Shush! Silent Disco – local underground house/techno party ST?TK will join forces with Shush! Silent Disco to bring a range of music genres to the Picton Room for a disco experience like no other!
- LightNight After Party – the night will come to an end at Constellations in the Baltic Triangle with music from No Fakin’ DJs, Faux Queens and Abandon Silence resident Andrew Hill.
