NightLight Liverpool 2017

City-wide festival LightNight Liverpool returns on Friday 19th May, to celebrate all things arts and culture.

This year’s festival will be exploring the nature of time – delving into the past, present and future to discover the influence of time in art, science and philosophy.

There will be 8 new commissions for 2017, across many major city venues including Liverpool Cathedral, Bluecoat, Metropolitan Cathedral, St George’s Hall, Albert Dock and the Baltic Triangle.

Highlights to keep an eye out for include sound installation ‘Where the Time Goes…’ by musician and composer Johnathan Raisin; a DJ set from Greg Wilson; and a new experimental audio visual installation from artists Logan & Wilcox, where multiple participants will control the work through biometric data such as brainwaves and heartbeat.

As well as these new commissions, there will be over 100 free events for all ages – including hands on workshops, dancing, arts and crafts, street performance, theatre and spoken word. With events and exhibitions running into the night, LightNight provides the perfect opportunity to take a late night walking tour of the city and enjoy the fantastic live music and light projections
